So Atari joins Steam (they already had a few games there but now it's the big package they intend to deliver). Games like Act of War (both original and the expansion), Indigo Prophecy (we have the review there) Death To spies or ArmA: Combat Operation and more are available right now. Other games wil be available in the coming weeks such as The Witcher or Neverwinter Nights 2 and its expansion.

If you're European though don't bother about searching for these games in your catalog right now, this announcement is only valid for North America. Apparently Valve needs time to decide how much more money they can grab from the European market before making these titles available for Europe. Will it be $10 or $20 more? Ah decisions, decisions...

I can wholeheartedy recommend the Act of War series.  Certainly not the top of the board nowadays and pales in comparison to some top tier titles, but it's a decent RTS.

I did read some of the book it's based on, however, which wasn't bad, even if the moniker "based on" is to be taken extremely lightly.

Yeah, Act of war was a good rts on the whole. I didn't play High Treason (the expansion) but I must have it somewhere (it was part of a bundle I acquired a few month ago). I should give it a try.
