An end to exclusivity?
« on: September 02, 2020, 05:35:34 AM »
Wow, that happened silently enough but during the past two months, every game that was previously an "EA Origin exclusive" (some for almost a decade) have unloaded on Steam, from Mass Effect 3 to Andromeda, passing by DA inquisition and all the others.

There's certainly something behind this sudden Electronic Arts commercial policy change which appears to extend to new titles as well (like FIFA 21 -- the game franchise which possibly brings the most money to EA -- meaning an effective end to Origin exclusivity regarding EA games).

At least Steam can now really claim that they sell the entire Mass Effect franchise; although the pricing is still a bit off (Mass Effect 3 for the same price than ME Andromeda? Sure...)

But hey, maybe this is the beginning of the end for exclusivities (whatever the platform/store).
